VirtualLab Fusion provides both ray tracing and a smart approach to physical optics modeling, field tracing, which produces fast and accurate results. With geometric field tracing Wyrowski Photonics presents its new breakthrough technology. It constitutes a fast Maxwell solver inspired by geometrical optics. Together with numerous diffractive-field-tracing techniques it is the next big step to provide our users with a unified field tracing experience in VirtualLab Fusion. LightTrans GmbH distributes VirtualLab Fusion alongside a network of local distributors worldwide.

Christian Hellmann is CEO at Wyrowski Photonics GmbH and responsible for the development of VirtualLab Fusion. After his study of computer science at the University of Cooperative Education in Horb on behalf of Bosch GmbH he joined LightTrans GmbH. There he worked on the programming and development of algorithms for optical modeling. From 2013 to 2014 Christian Hellmann was Chief Product Officer at LightTrans.

Prof. Frank Wyrowski, PhD

Frank Wyrowski is professor of technical physics at the Friedrich Schiller University of Jena and head of the Applied Computational Optics Group. In 1999 he co-founded the company LightTrans  and in 2014 the company Wyrowski Photonics. He is interested and working on various modeling and design tasks with special emphasis on physical optics. The research results steadily contribute to the further development of the optical design software VirtualLab Fusion.
